How do I post a job?

Click 'Post a Job' from the top navigation or homepage. You'll fill out a short form describing your project — service type, location, date, and budget. Posting is completely free and takes under 5 minutes. Once submitted, licensed pilots in your area will be notified and can submit bids.

How long does it take to receive bids?

Most jobs receive their first bid within 2 hours of posting. Jobs in major metro areas often receive multiple bids within the first hour. You'll receive an email notification each time a pilot submits a bid.

Can I message a pilot before hiring them?

Yes. You can message any pilot who has bid on your job directly through the platform before making a hiring decision. This lets you ask questions about their experience, equipment, or availability before committing.

What happens if I'm not satisfied with the deliverables?

Before approving the work, you can request revisions from the pilot. If you and the pilot can't reach an agreement, you can open a dispute and our team will review the original job requirements and deliverables to mediate a fair resolution. Your funds remain in escrow until the dispute is resolved.

What is the client fee?

Clients pay a 5% platform fee on completed jobs. There are no fees to post a job, browse pilots, or message pilots. The 5% fee is only charged when a job is successfully completed and you approve the deliverables.

What are the requirements to join as a pilot?

To join Droners.us as a pilot you must hold a valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, carry liability insurance (minimum $1M coverage), and be 18 years or older. You'll upload your certificate and insurance documents during signup and our team will verify them within 1–2 business days.

Is there a fee to join or bid on jobs?

No. Joining Droners.us is completely free. There are no monthly subscription fees, no bidding credits, and no pay-to-play mechanics. You only pay a 5% platform fee when you successfully complete a job and receive payment.

How and when do I get paid?

Once the client approves your deliverables, escrow releases your payment within 1–2 business days via direct deposit to your linked bank account. You keep 95% of the agreed job amount — only a 5% platform fee is deducted.

How do I get more jobs?

Complete your profile fully — add a professional photo, detailed bio, equipment list, and portfolio samples. Pilots with complete profiles and strong ratings receive significantly more bids. Respond to job inquiries quickly, as clients often hire the first pilot who responds with a compelling bid.

What happens if a client disputes my work?

If a client opens a dispute, your payment remains in escrow while our team reviews the situation. We compare the original job requirements with the deliverables you submitted. If your work meets the agreed scope, you will be paid. We aim to resolve all disputes within 3–5 business days.

How does escrow work?

When a client hires a pilot, they fund the escrow with the agreed job amount. The funds are held securely by Droners.us and are not released to the pilot until the client approves the final deliverables. This protects both parties — clients are guaranteed quality work, and pilots are guaranteed payment for completed work.

What payment methods are accepted?

Clients can fund escrow using all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) as well as ACH bank transfers. Pilot payouts are made via direct deposit (ACH) to a linked US bank account.

Can I get a refund if I cancel a job?

If you cancel a job before the pilot begins work, your escrow funds are fully refunded with no cancellation fee. If work has already begun, the refund amount depends on how much work was completed. Our team will review the situation and determine a fair refund amount.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Droners.us never stores your full card number or banking credentials. All transactions are encrypted using TLS.

How are pilots verified?

Every pilot on Droners.us is required to submit their FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and proof of liability insurance. Our team manually reviews and verifies each document before a pilot can bid on jobs. Verified pilots display a blue checkmark badge on their profile.

What if a pilot violates FAA regulations during my job?

All pilots on Droners.us are FAA Part 107 certified and agree to our Terms of Service, which require compliance with all FAA regulations. If you believe a pilot violated regulations during your job, report it immediately through the platform. We take safety violations extremely seriously and will investigate promptly.

How do I update my profile?

Log in and navigate to your dashboard, then click 'Edit Profile.' You can update your bio, profile photo, equipment list, portfolio, and contact preferences at any time. Changes are reflected immediately on your public profile.

How do I reset my password?

Click 'Log In' and then 'Forgot Password.' Enter the email address associated with your account and we'll send you a password reset link. The link expires after 24 hours. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder.
